Connectivi-tea

On Wednesday 18th May 2022, we continued our series of young onset dementia webinars with Connectivi-tea. This webinar focused on the use of technology and social media by people affected by young onset dementia.

We explored how technology and social media have become increasingly important to allow independence and connection. We were joined by two panellists, Dr Catherine Talbot, and Michael Andrews.

Catherine is a cyberpsychologist at Bournemouth university specialising in social media and its intersection with health and wellbeing. Catherine talked to us about her current research focusing on young onset dementia and the role of social media in facilitating social connection.

Michael lives with posterior cortical atrophy and shared with us the different types of technology he uses to allow him to keep his independence and live alone.
