On Wednesday 16th June 2021, we continued our series of young onset dementia webinars with Activi-tea – activities and the impact on people living with young onset dementia.
During the interactive webinar, Mark Hainy, Director and Karen Ive, Service Manager of YPWD Berkshire explored the impact of regular activity, be it physical or cognitive, by talking to people with young onset dementia who participate in it.
Their family members joined the discussion to give their thoughts on what they see as a result of regular activity, and Dr Jacqui Hussey, a Consultant Psychiatrist provided a clinical viewpoint.
Family member Pat said, “Activities improve Steve’s mood, he is on a high, whereas without them there is a drop. The stimulation affects his mood.”
